She swept across the room like a slow moving summer storm
And paused just long enough to admire the effect of the heat she'd left in her wake
And as her long legs moved in and out of frame he watched her hold the moment
Not like the ones who held on to 'em like they weren't gonna make 'em anymore
But like someone who knew just where all the buttons were and just how to push 'em
And he remembered that line from that old movie
If she was a ranch they would have called her the bar nothing
And this little voice in his head said, "Son, some things you don't do, and some things you do"
Well, she was one you did ...

	And this might be a damn fine way to go ...

Now she knew that some guys were born smart about women and some were born dumb
And as she parted those heartbreaker lips to slowly exhale
He could tell she was making up her mind about just where he finished in that horserace 
Was he someone who could go straight through that door and bust out a couple of jumps ahead of a shotgun blast
Or was he just another six feet of attitude lookin' to order from a menu he couldn't afford
Well the truth was it probably depended on the day
Or the night
Nothing lasts forever, not even forever
But then again it wasn't forever she was lookin' for ...

She pulled him close and he was hard pressed to tell where she began and he stopped
